Ben Stansbery

My name is Ben Stansbery, and I’ve been a puppeteer for as long as I can remember! First performing onstage at the age of seven, I have spent much of my life honing this passion into my career. I graduated from West Virginia University with a BFA in Puppetry/Creative Dramatics in 2015, and have since worked with companies such as Madcap Puppets, Angela Beasley’s Puppet People, One Way Street, OSI74, Mirage Entertainment, Hershey’s Chocolate World, and Imaginary Friends Puppet Theater.
I lectured on the evolving technology of digital puppetry at the 2017 National Puppetry Festival, and taught basic puppet manipulation workshops for All In Theatre. Recently, I’ve been pursuing puppet performance and construction opportunities for independent filmmaking projects, with three currently in pre-production. I hope that my outspoken passion and unusual avenues in puppetry will enrich the guild with new ideas and perspectives!
